NEET 2025 has been conducted, and lakhs of medical aspirants await the results and cutoff updates. With the exam over, the focus has shifted to cutoff trends and seat predictions for MBBS admissions. Based on expert reviews and student feedback, this year’s paper was more balanced, but some sections were more challenging than expected. This may directly impact the final cutoff scores.

NEET is the most competitive entrance exam for medical education in India. Every year, the cutoff scores decide who makes it to top medical colleges like AIIMS and other reputed government colleges. This time, the difficulty of the paper could play a significant role in lowering the cutoffs.

Cutoff for AIIMS Delhi May Drop by 40–50 Marks This Year

In past years, AIIMS Delhi required a NEET score of around 710 to 715 for open-category admissions. However, experts now say the 2025 cutoff may not touch those levels. With a comparatively tougher exam paper this year, they believe the AIIMS Delhi cutoff might settle between 660 and 670 marks.

Such a drop could benefit many high-performing candidates who missed the AIIMS seat in earlier years by a narrow margin. Students scoring in the mid-600s should now keep hope alive.

Government College Seats Possible Even at 550 Marks

NEET mentors and academic experts have also predicted that students scoring around 550 marks might get MBBS seats in good government medical colleges. This is encouraging news for thousands of students whose scores fall in this range, especially in states with larger seat quotas.

Students from reserved categories and those applying through state quotas could see even better chances with these scores. Experts recommend that such candidates actively prepare for the counselling round, where absolute seat allotment begins.

What NEET Candidates Should Do Before Results

While the result is yet to be announced, students should begin calculating their likely NEET scores using answer keys released by top coaching institutes. This will help them prepare a list of colleges where they may get a seat.

Students should also understand the NEET counselling process, including the documents required, category-wise seat allotments, and online registration steps. Having this knowledge will help avoid last-minute delays during actual counselling.

The official NEET answer key from NTA will soon be released. After that, the result and All India Rank (AIR) will be declared. Counselling for 15% All India Quota and 85% State Quota seats will begin soon after the results.

Disclaimer: Cutoff predictions are based on expert analysis and data from previous years. Final cutoffs may vary after official results.
